When summer comes, the Land of the Midnight Sun truly lives up to its name. Then brilliant sunshine bathes the shores, fjords, mountains peaks and bays in fire red, soft pink and golden yellow. The deep, soft greens of pine and hardwood form a startling contrast to this. Because of the intense, extended daylight, lasting 24 hours a day above the Arctic Circle, every Norwegian“night” is an extraordinary experience.
